Choose the transportation service that matches your mobility needs, schedule your ride, and experience reliable medical transportation designed for patients who expect professional service.
What Are NEMT Services?
NEMT transportation (non-emergency medical transportation) provides specialized transport to medical appointments for patients who cannot drive themselves or use standard vehicles.
Unlike emergency ambulance services for urgent medical crises, NEMT handles routine appointments: dialysis sessions, physical therapy, specialist consultations, radiation treatments, routine check-ups, and hospital discharges.
Jano Med-Ride focuses exclusively on private-pay NEMT services—we don’t accept Medicaid or Medicare. This allows us to offer same-day scheduling, direct communication, professional drivers, modern vehicles, and flexible service that government-funded programs cannot match.
Our clients include private insurance holders seeking reimbursement, self-pay patients, high-income seniors, workers’ compensation cases, and international medical tourists.

FAQ - NEMT Services Questions

What types of medical transportation does Jano Med-Ride offer?
Jano Med-Ride offers three types of non-emergency medical transportation services: wheelchair transportation (for patients using manual or power wheelchairs), stretcher transportation (for bed-bound or non-ambulatory patients requiring lying-down position), and ambulatory transportation (for mobile patients who need assistance and support but don't require wheelchairs). All services are private-pay only—we don't accept Medicaid or Medicare, which allows us to offer superior service, flexible scheduling, and direct booking.

How do I know which transportation service I need?
If you can walk with minimal assistance or use a cane/walker, choose ambulatory transportation. If you use a wheelchair as your primary mobility device and can sit upright comfortably, choose wheelchair transportation. If you cannot sit upright for extended periods or are bed-bound, choose stretcher transportation. Still unsure? Call us and we'll ask a few simple questions to recommend the safest, most comfortable service for your needs.

Do you accept Medicaid or Medicare?
No, Jano Med-Ride is a private-pay service only and does not accept Medicaid or Medicare. We serve the approximately 20% of patients who choose premium quality over government-funded programs. However, we do provide detailed receipts for private insurance reimbursement, and many private insurance plans (including some Medicare Advantage plans) cover or partially reimburse non-emergency medical transportation when deemed medically necessary.

Can you transport me to medical appointments out of state?
Yes, Jano Med-Ride provides long-distance medical transportation for out-of-state appointments when arranged in advance. We frequently transport patients from South Florida to specialized medical centers in other states for second opinions, specialized treatments, or clinical trials. Long-distance transport pricing is quoted individually based on distance, service type, and whether round-trip service is needed. Call us to discuss your long-distance transportation needs.

What is door-to-door service?
Door-to-door service means we pick you up from your exact location (home, hotel, assisted living facility) and transport you directly to your medical appointment entrance. We don't drop you at a parking lot—we take you to the facility door. After your appointment, we pick you up from the same location and return you to your starting point. Our drivers can assist you inside the facility to check-in if needed, then wait for your appointment to complete before returning you home.
